“A Hug can save a life!”

Dr Jeff Mullan

Twin girls, Brielle and Kyrie, were born 12 weeks ahead of their due date. Needing intensive care, they were placed in separate incubatorS.

Kyrie began to gain weight and her health stabilized. But Brielle, born only 2 lbs, had trouble breathing, heart problems and other complications. She was not expected to live.

Their nurse did everything she could to make Brielle’s health better, but nothing she did was helping her. With nothing else to do, their nurse went against hospital policy and decided to place both babies in the same incubator.

She left the twin girls to sleep and when when she returned she found a sight she could not believe. She called all the nurses and doctors and this is what they saw (refer to that picture ).

As Brielle got closer to her sister, Kyrie put her small little arm around her, as if to hug and support her sister. From that moment on, Brielle’s breathing and heart rate stabilized and her health became normal.

From then on, they decided to keep both babies together, because when they were together they kept each other alive…

So touching. Mula nung bata pa ako gustong gusto ko tlaga mgkaroon ng kakambal I wonder how it feels if my kakambal ka. With this story naiisip ko na twins are gift from God. They are special creations at napakasarap isipin how they live and how they help each other thru ups and downs. How bout you Kabaugheras?”

New York Gay Pride celebrates a year of marriage

Tens of thousands celebrated the first anniversary of the legalization of gay marriage in New York state at the annual Gay Pride March.

“Let’s celebrate. We have a lot to celebrate,” said singer Cyndi Lauper, 59, the parade’s grand marshal, “Everybody can be married in New York.”

“Happy anniversary,” read one sign, in a sea of rainbow flags.

“Thank you, Governor Cuomo,” another sign read, referring to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who signed same-sex marriage legislation on June 24, one year ago.

President Barack Obama declared in a national address in May that he personally felt same-sex couples should have the right to be married. Marchers supporting Obama’s statement wore t-shirts saying “Obama pride.”

From nearby New Jersey, marchers Chet Kabara and Frank Mahood, a couple for 29 years, said Obama’s support for gay marriage made this event “very special.”

“It is the first time that anyone at that level of our government has recognized the legitimacy of our relationship,” explained Mahood, 73. Mahood feels that the next step should be the annulment of a 1996 federal law on marriage, stipulating that marriage is a union between a man and woman.

“Full equality,” a large banner floating down 5th Avenue demanded.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, participated in the march, as well as Christine Quinn, speaker of City Council. Quinn, 45, was joined by her wife Kim Catullo. The two women have been married since May 2011.

“It is especially important to be here this year,” said one spectator, Christine Weimer, 21, who came with a friend Jacqueline, 15, to “support the community.”

Some 45 floats rolled down to Greenwich Village, and thousands participated in the parade, including, for the first time, military personnel.

Since autumn 2011, a law permits them to openly disclose their sexual orientation.

Despite all the serious political messages, the ambiance was one of festivity, with extravagant costumes, dancers and multicolored wigs dotting the parade route.

Wearing a white straw boater with a rainbow ribbon, Frank Mahood celebrated the advancements of the past few years, even if he still can’t get married in New Jersey.

Mahood has been at every parade since 1971.

“It was much more of a protest. We couldn’t walk on 5th Avenue. Today, it’s much more of a celebration.”

Pinoy Most Like’ to visit Disneyland. Much more if the Walt Disney park will be established in Clark Free Zone will be a good news to Mickey mouse fans all over the country.

Pampanga, First District Rep. Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin on April 18, has written Robert Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company based in Burbank, California, USA, to ask him to consider Clark for their next Walt Disney park, saying that Clark’s 4,400 hectare main zone and 27,600-hectare subzone will be the best place for a new Disneyland.

Clark Freeport Zone also the Hot Air Balloon Festival being held annually,  Clark became the home of this international aviation sport event mainly due to the facilities vast, open paved areas and clear, calm skies; these are significant requirements for a successful hot air balloon show involving flight of monster airships.

According to the report from Manila Bullettin,  the Congressman also cited Clark International Airport, world-class airport which is expected to serve at least P1.6-million passengers this year.

“The airport will be making it easier for tourists to enjoy the amenities and entertainment Disneyland is famous for without the hassles of long travels,” he said.

Currently there are already 3 Disneyland theme parks in Asia located Hong Kong, Tokyo (Japan), and Shanghai (China)

Disneyland in Hongkong were featured in Kapuso mo Jessica Soho numerous times. And it will be more great if Mickey Mouse, Thinker Bell, Peter Pan, Toy Story characters and a whole lot more will play and give joy to our Filipino people here in the Philippines and which will make it cheaper for us to enjoy the happiest place on Earth-Disneyland.

“That has to be studied. We get the general idea. It will bring in business and promote tourism, may multiplier effect ang ganoong project (but) we have to study it first.”

Kimmy Dora and The Temple Of kiyeme

Kimmy Dora 2 and the Temple of Kiyeme is a sequel to the box office hit Kimmy Dora: Kambal sa Kiyeme which was released last 2009. The film tries to incorporate horror, action, and comedy into the story plot, giving its viewers a  fresh viewing experience.

The story revolves on a long forgotten promise made by their Dad to the Sang Family back when he was in Korea. This is a promise that he failed to keep which brought in a curse to their family. Kimmy and Dora went back to Korea to have the mystery solved and finally put an end to the family curse.

As always, Miss Eugene Domingo’s craft was impeccable. She was able to give both characters (Kimmy and Dora) its unique persona, making them quite distinguishable from the other. Even Alodia Gosiengfiao  (who has already made her name in the Cosplay World) added an extra twist to the story, making it much more interesting (and scary).

What’s interesting about this movie is that it can really be scary if the story asks for it.  Bb. Joyce Bernal did a great job in incorporating the different movie elements in the film.

The movie, overall, is something worth watching if you’re looking for something to get your mind off of things. It gives a whole new definition on Pinoy Comedy Film, which just shows that Pinoys have already moved on from slapstick comedy genres.

“Watch n tayo kabaugheraS…Pinanood ko ito last saturday at kahit mag-isa lang ako nanood tawa ako ng tawa. Ibang klase tlaga si Eugene Domingo. Sulit ang ibabayad niyo dito. Kung gusto niyo sumaya buhay niyo Push n kayo. Haba lagi ng Pila dito. Ahehehe.”
