Coming Out And Being GAY

Standard

The Re-Launching of Gay

Via:  http://nandoism.com

Bringing up a sensitive issue like being gay and there seems to be a common denominator floating around, ”Oh, their fierce and fabulous, gays can help you find the right lipstick!” Now, as much as I love being called fabulous and fierce; actually, I don’t really know what being fierce is–I can’t help you pick a lipstick; I can’t even pick out chapstick, much less tell you what color you should be schmearing on your lips. The world is finally learning to celebrate gays but only one type of gay, the “in gay that’s out”. So it’s time for  the re-launching of GAY!

There are several types of gays in our rainbow (9 to be exact), and depending of the type of gay your gay is–you might have to accept that lipstick color selection is not one of his traits found in his DNA. I know some of my exes were not fashionably sensitive, and if you allowed them to style you–you’d end up looking like an extra in Tina Turner’s Thunder Dome video. Not a cute look, especially since gladiator sandals are so last year. So it’s time for all of us to rise up and celebrate the gay next to you but only after you find out what his strengths are, what are some of his likes/dislikes, or discover what his interests consists of, so you can celebrate him and his true self–not for the gay you want him to be.

Whether he’s a Nerd/Geek Gay, a Family Gay, an Old-Queen Gay, a Zen Gay, a Professional Gay, or one of the other 4 gay types–they all deserve to be celebrated because the light they shine in your life will remain bright, constant and readily available for you during your darkest moments. A Family Gay will know the best times to hit Target and not get mauled by the crowds, while a Zen Gay can offer tips on balancing your life and helping out the environment and the ever-so-naughty Old-Queen Gay will dispense the daily scoop on your next-door neighbor tragic marriage.

The next time you see a gay, don’t snap your fingers at him and say, “Girl, I’m having a fashion emergency, I need help!” because number one, not all gays like to be called girl but number two, he might have you looking like a cross between Pipi Long Stocking and an epileptic peacock–which is basically the Fergie look. We gays are great listeners, can provide insight on any topic other than fashion (relationships, finance, cooking, maintenance, career, spirituality, love) it’s not just hand bags and conversations on “how to get your bangs cut”.  It’s time we re-launch gay and put all our diverse flavors out there to be celebrated. And please, don’t contact me for anything else than a great guacamole recipe, cause child, I’m not that type of Gay!

What is the biggest pressure you feel being in the GAY Community?

I asked some of my Gay Friends this Question and They Confidently answered as if they were in a Miss Universe Pageant:

“I will start out by saying that I’m proud that I am gay and I never made the choice to be gay. We have a social expectation dictated us by the society we must live in. I have been discriminated against, rejected and even pressured by my own family.

I wish that people would set aside their biases, stereotypes or religious beliefs to understand our perspective and inner emotions. Any individual want to live their life to their liking. I believe that no individual want someone telling them how to live their life. I want to impart by saying that I am glad that we are unique in our own way. “Let us embrace our differences.” – JONAS of  Elite Circle of Men | Smart Coven

“The biggest pressure of being gay is that your parents are expecting a child from you and getting married to the opposite sex for security and financial reasons…=) When I opened up to my mom last April 2011, I told her that I can take care of myself, RAIN and I are going to settle down for good and the best of all, THEY (my parents), raised THE BEST CHILD they ever had!! I’m proud of my mom and dad and I’m proud of what I’ve become…=)” –ELMO  of  Elite Circle of Men | Smart Coven

“Accepting the fact that we are gay, is the biggest pressure in gay lives. Especially, those who are not yet ready to “come out from the closet ” and admit to themselves that they are gays and for those who are afraid to be criticized by other people for being gay. We should accept, love and respect ourselves as who we are without hesitations, in order for us to become a better person. Being in the gay community, gave me a lot of strength and courage to be who and what I am now. It also reminds me every single day that I am not alone, I am not different and I know that I am a good citizen that can lead, and a good example for other people, a loyal and faithful husband of ELMO and also with my family to be proud of. =)” – RAIN of  Elite Circle of Men | Smart Coven

“The biggest pressure in being a gay is the expectation of all the people that surrounds you, i believe that we cant please everybody but the fact that we are not yet accepted within the normal community, is hard for us to gain respect, to be trusted and to be loved, though nowadays some or majority of people are already opened their eyes in this kind of reality, they’ve realized that we “gays” are also a human being, that we are also in need of respects, love and security. Now i cAn proudly say that despite of all the humiliation that others brought to us, we are still “GIVING PEOPLE A LITTLE JOY” in their life. i thank you! :)” – SUE ZUKI of  Elite Circle of Men | Smart Coven

Starting Thursday, July 12, the Makati City Hall will be a free Wi-Fi zone as part of the city government’s plan to make Makati the country’s first wi-fi city.

The launch of the free wi-fi zone coincides with the birthday of Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr., who plans to install free wi-fi in all the city’s 33 villages.

“We are laying the foundation for transforming Makati into the country’s first wireless city. We recognize that embracing modern technology is the fastest way to achieve inclusive progress and equitable growth in this age of globalization,” Binay said.

He said the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) will be the city’s project partner and Internet service provider.

Also on Thursday, the city government will launch a Twitter account focusing on Makati Traffic.

The Twitter account @MakatiTraffic seeks to provide motorists and commuters real-time 24-hour traffic updates.

Meanwhile, the city will also relaunch the city web portal and hold a mega job fair and discount caravan at the City Hall Quadrangle.

It will also offer a P1-discount on jeepney fares from 8 a.m. to noon, offered by members of the Unified Transport Federation of Makati as their birthday gift to the mayor.

THROUGH A RAPIST’S EYES

“THROUGH A RAPIST’S EYES”

It seems that a lot of attackers use some tactic to get away with violence. Not many
people know how to take care of themselves when faced with such a
situation. Everyone should read this especially each n every girl in this world.

THOUGHT THIS WAS GOOD INFO TO PASS ALONG…

FYI – Through a rapist’s eyes! A group of rapists and date rapists in
prison were interviewed on what they look for in a potential victim
and here are some interesting facts:

1] The first thing men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle.
They are most likely to go after a woman with a ponytail, bun! , braid
or other hairstyle that can easily be grabbed. They are also likely to
go after a woman with long hair. Women with short hair are not common
targets.

2] The second thing men look for is clothing. They will look for women
who’s clothing is easy to remove quickly. Many of them carry scissors
around to cut clothing.

3] They also look for women using their cell phone, searching through
their purse or doing other activities while walking because they are
off guard and can be easily overpowered.

4] The number one place women are abducted from / attacked at is
grocery store parking lots.

5] Number two is office parking lots/garages.

6] Number three is public restrooms.

7] The thing about these men is that they are looking to grab a woman
and quickly move her to a second location where they don’t have to
worry about getting caught.

8] If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged
because it only takes a minute or two for them to realize that going
after you isn’t worth it because it will be time-consuming.

9] These men said they would not pick on women who have umbrellas,or
other similar objects that can be used from a distance, in their
hands.

10] Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to
the attacker to use them as a weapon. So, the idea is to convince
these guys you’re not worth it.

POINTS THAT WE SHOULD REMEMBER:

1] If someone is following behind you on a street or in a garage or
with you in an elevator or stairwell, look them in the face and ask
them a question, like what time is it, or make general small talk:
can’t believe it is so cold out here, we’re in for a bad winter. Now
that you’ve seen their faces and could identify them in a line- up,
you lose appeal as a target.

2] If someone is coming toward you, hold out your hands in front of
you and yell Stop or Stay back! Most of the rapists this man talked to
said they’d leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would
not be afraid to fight back. Again, they are looking for an EASY
target.

3] If you carry pepper spray (this instructor was a huge advocate of
it and carries it with him wherever he goes,) yelling I HAVE PEPPER
SPRAY and holding it out will be a deterrent.

4] If someone grabs you, you can’t beat them with strength but you can
do it by outsmarting them. If you are grabbed around the waist from
behind, pinch the attacker either under the arm between the elbow and
armpit or in the upper inner thigh – HARD. One woman in a class this
guy taught told him she used the underarm pinch on a guy who was
trying to date rape her and was so upset she broke through the skin
and tore out muscle strands the guy needed stitches. Try pinching
yourself in those places as hard as you can stand it; it really hurts.

5] After the initial hit, always go for the groin. I know from a
particularly unfortunate experience that if you slap a guy’s parts it
is extremely painful. You might think that you’ll anger the guy and
make him want to hurt you more, but the thing these rapists told our
instructor is that they want a woman who will not cause him a lot of
trouble. Start causing trouble, and he’s out of there.

6] When the guy puts his hands up to you, grab his first two fingers
and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing
down on them as possible. The instructor did it to me without using
much pressure, and I ended up on my knees and both knuckles cracked
audibly.

7] Of course the things we always hear still apply. Always be aware of
your surroundings, take someone with you if you can and if you see any
odd behavior, don’t dismiss it, go with your instincts. You may feel
little silly at the time, but you’d feel much worse if the guy really
was trouble.

FINALLY, PLEASE REMEMBER THESE AS WELL ….
I know you are smart enough to know these pointers but there will be
some, where you will go “hmm I must remember that” After reading,
forward it to someone you care about, never hurts to be careful in
this crazy world we live in.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your
body. If you are close enough to use it, do it.

2. Learned this from a tourist guide to New Orleans : if a robber asks
for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from
you…. chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or
purse than you and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN
THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car: Kick out the back
tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like
crazy. The driver won’t see you but everybody else will. This has
saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating,
working, etc., and just sit
(doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON’T DO THIS! The
predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for
him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell
you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU CLOSE the DOORS , LEAVE.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or
parking garage:

a. Be aware: look around your car as someone may be
hiding at the passenger side , peek into your car, inside the
passenger side floor, and in the back seat. ( DO THIS TOO BEFORE
RIDING A TAXI CAB) .

b. If you! u are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the
passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling
them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their
cars.

c. Look at the car parked on the driver’s side of your vehicle, and
the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest
your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a
guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE
THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are
horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot).

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS
RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times;
And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT! It may
get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a
good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies
of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often
asked “for help” into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when
he abducted his next victim.

I’d like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a
life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I was going
to send this to the ladies only, but guys, if you love your mothers,
wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it onto them, as
well.

Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the
world we live in has a lot of crazies in it and it’s better safe than
sorry.

“Mapa de las Islas Filipinas”

Ancient Spanish maps show Scarborough shoal and North Borneo (SABAH) is part of Philippine islands.

Maps dating back to the early Spanish colonial period, which were the standard references for explorers and travelers and acknowledged by governments and regimes, clearly show Panatag Shoal, also called Panacot, just off the Philippine coast.

The maps are among 134 original maps on exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The exhibit, “Three Hundred Years of Philippine Maps,” features maps of the archipelago from 1598 to the American colonial era.

The exhibit is part of the celebration of Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day on June 30.

Fr. Pedro Murillo Velarde’s 18th century “Mapa de las Islas Filipinas” clearly shows Panatag Shoal lying just across Zambales.

The Jesuit Murillo was given the task by Gov. Fernando Valdes Tamon in 1732 to execute a Royal decree on the mapping of the Philippines, which was then a territory of Spain.

Two years later, a complete map of the Philippines was conceived.

The engraver was Nicolas de la Cruz Bagay, described on the bottom of the map as an “indio tagalo.”

A smaller version of the map was made in 1744 and published in Murillo’s 1749 history of the Jesuit province. Fr. Miguel Selga, SJ in his bicentennial monograph in 1934, enumerated 125 important islands found in both maps.

Both show Panatag, then called Panacot. It was also called Bajo de Masinloc.

The plates of Murillo’s map disappeared when British invaders looted Manila in 1762-1764.

The name Bajo de Masinloc was a name given to the shoal by the Spanish colonizers. -philstar

NORTH BORNEO DISPUTE:

In 1658, the Sultan of Brunei gave Sabah to the Sultan of Sulu for his help in sending Tausug Warriors to stop a rebelion and civil war. Since then, Sabah became a property of Sultan of Sulu and the Sultanate of Sulu.

In 1878, HM Sultan Hamalul Aklam Kiram (The Sultan of Sulu and the Sultan of Sabah), leased Sabah to a British Company of Gustavus Baron de Overdeck and Alfred Dent “The North Borneo Company.”, for their used and their heirs. The leased prohibits the transfer of Sabah to any nation, company or individual without the consent of the Government of the Sultan of Sulu.

In 1946-47, the leased was illegally transferred to the British Government by Over deck and Dent when their company North Borneo ceased to exist.

On September 12,1962, the still on leased territory of North Borneo (SABAH) and the full sovereignty, the title and dominion over the territory was ceded by the then reigning Sultan of Sulu, HM Sultan Muhammad Esmail E. Kiram I to the Republic of the Philippines. The cession effectively gave the Philippine Government the full authority to pursue their claim in international courts.

In 1963, the British illegally transferred Sabah to newly formed Federation of Malaysia. Upon the illegal inclusion of Sabah into Malaysian Federation, President Diosdado Macapagal broke diplomatic relation with Malaysia.

HUMAN BRAIN ANALYSIS

  ╔══════════════ ೋღ☃ღೋ ══════════════╗

   ♥ ☼ ♥ ☼ ♥ ☼ HUMAN BRAIN  ☼ ♥ ☼ ♥ ☼ ♥

  ╚══════════════ ೋღ☃ღೋ ══════════════╝

Man vs. Woman

1. MULTITASKING
Women – Multiple process
Women brains designed to concentrate multiple task at a time. Women can Watch a TV and Talk over phone and cook.

Men – Single Process
Men brains designed to concentrate only one work at a time. Men can not watch TV and talk over the phone at the same time. they stop the TV while Talking. They can either watch TV or talk over the phone or cook.

2. LANGUAGE
Women can easily learn many languages. But can not find solutions to problems. Men can not easily learn languages, they can easily solve problems. That’s why in average a 3 years old girl has three times higher vocabulary than a 3 yeard old boy.

3. ANALYTICAL SKILLS

Men brains has a lot of space for handling the analytical process. They can analyze and find the solution for a process and design a map of a building easily. But If a complex map is viewed by women, they can not understand it. Women can not understand the details of a map easily, For them it is just a dump of lines on a paper.

4. CAR DRIVING.

While driving a car, mans analytical spaces are used in his brain. He can drive a car fast. If he sees an object at long distance, immediately his brain classifies the object (bus or van or car) direction and speed of the object and he drives accordingly. Where woman take a long time to recognize the object direction/ speed. Mans single process mind stops the audio in the car (if any), then concentrates only on driving.

5. LYING

When men lie to women face to face, they get caught easily. Woman’s super natural brain observes facial expression 70%, body language 20% and words coming from the mouth 10%. Men brain does not have this. Women easily lie to men face to face.
So guys, do not lie face to face.

6. PROBLEMS SOLVING

If a man have a lot of problems, his brain clearly classifies the problems and puts them in individual rooms in the brain and then finds the solution one by one. You can see many guys looking at the sky for a long time. If a woman has a lot of problems, her brain can not classify the problems. she wants some one to hear that. After telling everything to a person she goes happily to bed. She does not worry about the problems being solved or not.

7. WHAT THEY WANT

Men want status, success, solutions, big process, etc… But Women want relationship, friends, family, etc…

8. UNHAPPINESS

If women are unhappy with their relations, they can not concentrate on their work. If men are unhappy with their work, they can not concentrate on the relations.

9. SPEECH
Women use indirect language in speech. But Men use direct language.

10. HANDLING EMOTION
Women talk a lot without thinking. Men act a lot without thinking.
